Where Can I Study IT?

Universities  in Victoria offer a variety of courses in IT. Courses might be called Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Systems, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Technology Engineering, etc.

About You

The successful applicant will be experienced and competent in the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or Post Graduate qualifications in Computer Science, System's analysis, or other related study or equivalent experience.]

  • Strong experience of security related solution architecture in large organisations, with complex, multi-application and varied infrastructure landscapes.

  • Extensive experience of managing and working with external ICT service providers in the design and delivery of complex security related ICT solutions. 

  • Extensive knowledge of security architecture and design patterns. 

  • Strong knowledge of ICT development and project delivery methodologies.

  • Strong knowledge of ICT strategy. architecture, service delivery and direction. 

  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, processes, techniques and tools. 

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and solution identification skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation. 

  • Ability to translate business needs into requirements for solution architecture.

  • Strong customer focus background with commercial awareness and strategies thinking capability.

  • Ability to manage relationships across the organisation at multiple levels. 

Cybersecurity Careers

Cybersecurity is one of the fastest growing industries in information and communication technologies. Demand for skilled professionals is booming with the rise of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, device interconnectivity and global cyber terrorism.

Where Can I Study Cybersecurity?

Cybersecurity is a broad field which requires skills in communication, a good understanding of business and technology, problem solving and ability to continually learn. There are no specific degree requirements from employers. You can study a Bachelor of Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, and related degrees. Some universities have also recently created specialist cybersecurity degrees:

Cyber Security Threat Analyst 

Our client is looking for someone passionate in Cyber Security who wants to start their career in the industry. You will be writing threat reports for customers across the globe and communicate complex technical details around Cyber risk to an executive-level audience.

This role is suitable for a new grad or someone with a few years' experience. 

To make sparks fly you will have:

  • Distinction average or high in your degree results (preferably from computer science, engineering, IT or related fields)

  • Keen interest in Cyber security

  • Interest in learning the technical skills needed for the role (networking background would be great)
